G and K in Santa Ana California Has The DOT and EPA And CARB release for the Smart Coupe. I Will be going to take a look at the DOT Items.. lights etc
They are doing aprox 250 cars for ZAP.George @ G/K said the Conversion Costs $4,000.00 to $4,500.00 US and takes Two weeks to do the Conversion.

Practically nothing. The import laws create a high barrier to becoming an importer. This allows the importers to charge a high fee for doing very little. My Gwagen went through G&K. Overall they did decent work. It just cost wildly more than it should have (~15k in the case of the G). The price is just the cost of bringing in a unique vehicle.
