They look like 16" AMG aero1 which came in a wide variety of widths and offsets. Can you see the markings on the back side?

I hear Chumlee was really interested... LOL

Seriously, from the oddly worded clips he left, he doesn't sound like a guy who would be interested in boxing them and shipping to you. He can't even get access for more photos.

I have a chromed set of 16's that I've been meaning to take to a shop for de-chrome and paint, I think they are et40, I'd have to look to make sure of the et. from memory they are pre-merger 7.5 x 16 et40

I don't think I'll get around to refinishing them anytime soon, if interested pm me... not looking for a lot from them...

Based on the prices I got myself and saw someone else get for et17, (unless et40 are more valuable, which they may be, having greater flexibility of use), I personally wouldn't waste the time and money getting the chrome stripped.

Well, although you make a valid point in general, these Aero I wheels are not all that prevalent, and it's like an old Merc, I'd rather see them refurbed and enjoyed, then melted down for scrap. If nothing else, they are spare wheels when someone breaks one of theirs that can't be fixed. Having 3 good rare wheels is useless.... If someone doesn't buy these cheap from me, I will have them stripped and repainted OEM.... whether I keep them or not. I have a full polished set on my 94 E420, very tasteful and era correct looking. And I think 16" wheels ride the best on our older 124's, anyway, just my opinion for what it's worth...

201.400.070?

But, this does show that the most likely are not either of the low offset (7.5x16 et17 or 8x16 et11) w126 models. It appears to be the w201 model. Someone here might know the offset, or perhaps what that last digit of the part number should be.

It is more clear now that these are 16", not 17", although I understand why you'd suspect 17" as they are surely a little over 17" when measuring the diameter of one lip to another. The place where the tire bead sits is the 16" part, and is not easy to measure.
