Not sure it was dads car. He looked into it said 1 gallon would last him a week of driving 120miles a day then one day no lights or anything just started losing power and died. I can find out in the morning where he thought the leak was from. I was planning on running compression this weekend just out of curiosity and I post results.

He took it to an Indy that charged him 1000 up front took off inter coolers and pass side coil pack and said he needed a used engine for 12.5K plus 3K to install. Didn't even run compression or a leak down test. I should have some of those numbers this weekend. Dad messed up and told Indy up front that if it was too much he was just gonna give him the car.

Was it using a gallon of coolant or leaking it?

How long did he drive it like that too? Shame he neglected to address it before catastrophic failure.

Hard to price something like this due to the mileage. There's no comparables. My dealer wholesale shows over 100,000 mile S600s selling in low to mid teens. You would be way over that finding a motor, labor, plus the extra few grand of while your there's that play into a job like this.

Love Grand Lake, by the way. My family has been going there for 20 years.

He said leaking not using. Very open to offers. Cause I don't want to part out but see just the top alone on eBay used for 3k and door shells are 400 a piece. Very nice car I would like to get it running but time and money would be a bit much for me.

Yes grand is a Great Lake to have a lot of fun at

Man.. tough situation.

If you guys would of found it earlier before the temp problems it might not of been a huge deal. But now you are maybe talking headgaskets, etc.

I'd probably find a M275 expert and see what he says. If you can. The dealer won't do anykind of real digging, they'll just tell you that they want to do a replacement motor.
