======================SE============

THE FOLLOWING PARTS ARE ALL SOLD. THANKS!

Parting out the engine from my 2003 S55 AMG. All parts from the longblock are available (no accessories) except the block and one piston which are bad due to wear from excessive piston slap. Engine was running fine prior to disassembly except for the piston slap noise. I have disassembled and inspected everything, and it all looks great. No abnormal wear, no pitting or rust, no damage. See pictures and full details below, more pictures at https://plus.google.com/photos/10758...PS3nM_xgtvl2QE

All the main engine parts are from a 2003 S55 with 92k miles. The oil pans and pump are from the replacement engine I purchased, which came from a 2004 E55 with 49k miles. In general, the engine parts will fit any M113K (2003-2008) including C55, CLK55, CLS55, E55, SL55, S55 (some specifics are listed below) -- but be sure to check fitment.

Everything is available for pickup in Cary, NC. I will ship at actual shipping cost as quickly as possible. Prices are firm at the moment (everything is priced well below recent ebay sales) but I will consider discounting multiple items purchased together. Email or call for more details. whit32@gmail.com, 919-454-5445

In good shape. Normal wear for the mileage. Bluing of the crank seen in the pictures is from the factory heat treatment (they all look like that!). NOTE: Some time in 2003-2005 Mercedes changed the output flange bolt pattern on the crankshaft slightly. This crankshaft has the EARLY pattern, which has eight evenly spaced bolts. The later crank has the bolts “paired” with larger spacing between the pairs. According to the ETK, this crank will fit cars prior to engine code 60 046179. It WILL fit later cars, but will require a different flex plate for the transmission.

I might be interested in the right cylinder head possibly both. Since you work from home I guess I could use my Fedex account to pick up. The heads are in decent shape? Are you open to offers? What form of payment do you want? Could you send weight plus measurements so I can quote shipping from Fedex?
By the way the car looks great
Cheers
Scott

Hey Scott!

I saw one of your threads a few weeks ago about your own "basket case" purchase So is there a problem with one of the heads? I'll go check out your threads.

To answer your questions:

- Fedex pickup would be just fine with me, saves me a trip
- Heads look great. Cams have no lip or excessive wear or galling in the cam journals. No evidence of damage anywhere, and I checked the deck as well as I could with a flat edge and they are straight. There were no problems with the engine prior to removing them except for the piston slap -- no overheating, good power, no burning oil. I did not drive the car long enough to monitor oil consumption, but these engines seem to not have many problems with valve guides going bad. I have been very careful with them since removing, they are sitting in a box with some t-shirts wrapped around them, indoors. I would not hesitate to re-use them. If you are feeling anal retentive, you could have a quick deck skim and valve job done before installing, or at least have a machine shop do a quick valve seat check (they use a vacuum). It's just a cheap and good idea before installing any head. If you find any problems I'll work to make it right, but I don't expect any issues.
- Offers - I'm going to stay firm for about 4 weeks. After that, they go on ebay for more $$$. After that, I'm open to offers. I'm in no hurry
- Payment by paypal is preferred, but cash in person would be even better lol
- I put one head on the scale, it's about 49lb. Call it more like 52ish lb once it's in a suitable box with a ton of packing material.

PS - you might want to edit your reply above and remove the "quote".... it's pretty long (sorry!)

Let me get the diagnostic done(later one this week as my coupe was trashed last night so dealing with that). I would rather buy the pair then just replace one. Just because this way I know they are balanced.
Where are you located? if it is not a huge haul might drive down.

Drove through North Carolina once. My wife has family there. It will be Fedex.
I will get my butt in gear and let you know pretty soon. Dealing with my 1988 300CE is taking much more time then I thought.
The reason I am leaning to buy yours is I can send them in and my car is still mobile. I take the heads of mine and send those in my car sits for a lot longer.
Not really driving it but I do need to move it out of the garage to get things
