WTB: 1977-1984 W123 300D/CD (New England) < $4500

Been searching for a while. Now that the weather is getting warmer anybody in the New England area interested in selling their '77-'84 300D or 300CD. My budget's $4500. Here is what I'm looking for:

- Rust Free (probably means never driven in the snow)

-Under 180,000 miles

- Accurate Maintenance Records

- Allow a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic in yor area

- interior in great shape

- Original Paint Job or a Paint job done right (All trim removed, door panels removed, high quality paint ect.)

If your out there look forward to doing buisness with you!

Call me Ben! Formally "Mercedes Lover"

I assume:
- 1985 would also be ok.
- you eliminated the older w115 300d from your search

Decided against the 240d cars? Or simply in favor of the 300d?

Yeah 240D I've learned might not be the best for comfortable modern highway driving. 5 cylinders really does it for me. Have learned the W115's have horrible rust protection compared to the W123's and on New England roads it would fall apart. Not gonna lie if I found a perfect example of a W115 300D in front of me I would snatch it up. Not really an ideal daily driver though and more of a collectors garage car that you want to keep in great condition. Do not like 1985 W123's because of a lot of them having the recalled California trap oxidizer and special air filter. Want the ability to have the Mercedes inspected by a mechanic before buying. As much as I would love to travel to California it's just unrealistic right now.

Only the California models had the trap ox and goofy air filter setup. The rest of the US market cars are very similar to the 84 and earlier turbo cars.
