Arrow Want to Buy - Nice W140 Sedan 1997-1999

The title says it all, folks.

The wife wants to drive the SL500, so I told her I would have to find a nice W140 sedan to drive its place. Here's the deal:

I am looking for a 1997-99 W140 sedan. Color is not important, nor is engine size, although given a choice I would prefer an M119 rather than the inline six, but that is by no means a deal breaker. No V12s, thank you. Cosmetics are critical. I want a clean car that doesn't need bodywork, other than maybe a bumper that might need paint. I can deal with mechanicals and electrical all day long, but this will not be a project car, it will be a daily driver. Mileage doesn't scare me if the car has been properly maintained. I currently have two W140 chassis cars, both of which have north of 270k on they clocks, each. As one might expect, a car with service records is the best candidate.

I have a budget of up to around $7,000 which should be adequate for a nice example.

I have been scouring the state of Florida for a decent car and either miss the few nice ones that have come up or the car ends up being a beater. I am reaching out due to the very limited number of decent cars I've found down here so far. That means I'll gladly travel for the right deal, although the closer to Florida the better. A PPI will be in order without question.

I will gladly throw a couple hundred bucks the way of anyone who can assist me with finding the next W140 for my stable as a finder's fee. This would be paid upon a successful purchase and delivery of the car.

If you know of or see a potential candidate, drop me a PM, please.

And no beaters, please. Any potential candidates should be at or near the top of the range. I've seen enough bad examples over the past few weeks around here....
