W123 w126 recaro adapters

SOLD.

I am of the belief that these are worth $OLD!!!. Let me know if I am incorrect.

I bought these with some recaro seats that I wanted with a deal that a w126 owning forum member was
going to buy these plus another set of recaro orthopads that I own, but the buyer backed out on me after I bought me second set of gray velour recaros. I'm looking to recoup some unexpected costs of this purchase and know that I will not be using these.

Oh... There's one sure fine euro w126 sedan on ebay with a gray velour interior if you're looking for a package to install in that car I can help.

Have they been modified? I've not seen a version that has just one cross bar. Looking at the label, looks to have been taken out of a W126 as its got a factory Mercedes sticker. Technically should fit the 123/126 models.

Yeah. Never seen single bar myself either. Somewhere around I have a picture of the recaro part number sticker that was on the other one. I took a picture and then the sticker fell off and I lost it.

After much research -- I was supposed to buy these from Mike, but as he is a gentlemen he let me out of the deal -- I determined these to be an early Recaro part number which was at some point superseded.

Mike is super honest and fair and he won't sell anyone anything which won't work on their car. Any W126/123 owner can rest assured they will fit.

These don't come up often, so what made you not want to buy from him? Change of plans?

I decided I didn't want to spend the money on Recaros is all; nothing wrong with what Mike is offering.

Story goes:
- I bought gray velour orthopads for my gray velour interior 280slc. They have vinyl backs which don't really match the interior, but I didn't think I would ever find anything better. They appeared to "made for my car".
- full gray velour Classic C come up for sale on ebay and I say, "oh well. I already got mine, and nobody's going to want my gray velour orthopads."
- I see Luke Colorado is seeking recaros and he was looking at the same seats that were not described as perfect. The seller wouldn't test the functions, and in order to get him to ship, I had to send him boxes, instructions, and pre-printed shipping labels for FedEx to pick them up. Luke didn't want to deal with the seller. I was willing. So we worked out a plan, and he tested out my orthopads in person. He was going to get the orthopads to recover and the w126 adapters.
- Luke gave me 50% deposit and I promised to deliver them before Christmas. I didn't make the delivery by Xmas, and I can't remember if it was before or after, but Luke was deciding that the stock seats would be a more cost effective and maybe even better solution. I don't blame him. I should have acted faster. That was the risk I took.
- I dragged my feet for months in returning Luke's deposit in hopes he would change his mind. No luck on that!

recaro bracket

I really do not think that 1 bar or two will make any difference. I have seen 1 bar before on another manual seat. Think about it, the factory seat is anchored to the bracket just by the sides no crossmember at all so the fact that this only has one should make no difference as long as the bolts are tight on both sides it NEVER should cause any distortion. Recaro and sparo seat brackets in may cars are two individual brackets for each side they work great and are safe I think the two bars are way overkill. These are a great deal .. recaro new brackets are $500 + postage from Germany
Just my 2 cents Bob

W123 w126 recaro adapters

Thanks Bob. I totally agree. These brackets really look pretty perfect to me. The w126 rails they are bolted to are not quite perfect, but the adapters look pretty flawless.

I will dig up the picture of the sticker that was on the passenger adapter.
