WTB: 1 wheel center cap for 1990 W126

I want a period-correct OEM W126 center cap for my 1990 300SEL. Used is ok. Ship to me (in the US) by Priority Mail and I can pay you by Paypal or check or whatever you prefer. Thanks!

Are you looking for the standard cap, for the 15 hole, 15" inch wheels? I have a bunch of them, as two of my W126's were 1990's, and now both have AMG wheels. Let me know, I can grab one from storage one night this week, and mail it out to you.

1990 560 SEL (Hans) & 1990 560 SEC (Hugo), both built in 08/89 in 702 over 265. (My Fraternal Twins)
1987 560 SEC AMG in 122 Pearl Grey Metallic.
1994 S420 (Gunter), in 199 Blauschwartz; (Traded in on W220).
2001 S600L (Hannah), in 753 Tectite Gray Metallic; (Gone in 08/12).
1979 300 CD in robins egg blue; (Gone in 11/12).

Thanks Daniel. I believe so, the standard cap for 15". I'll grab a photo of my wheel later today (car is not with me right at the moment) and will show you what I want to replicate just to make sure we have the right thing. I might buy a couple of those from you, since I'm sure they'll go "missing" (wink wink) again. Thank you again. I'll message you again later.

That is Not a W126 wheel. Later wheel, I believe off of the W140. 8 hole, versus the 15 hole of the W126. And the pictured wheel is chrome plated as well. I did have a set of chrome plated W126 15" wheels at one time.

I do have a chrome center cap, I believe. Maybe. Let me check my stock. But I am not sure if the W126 center caps will fit the W140 wheels.

You are right, and thank you for saving me from a mistake. Somehow I'd assumed that the wheels are original, but clearly they aren't. They are 15" but yes, apparently from the W140 generation.

And yes, they appear to be chrome.

I'll take anything you've got. You can even send over a few variants in a priority flat rate box and I'll send back what doesn't work? And we can work out payment whenever you want.

Please take your time; absolutely no rush on this.

Thank you again.

From the looks of the center cap in the first pic and the lip of the wheel, it would appear the wheels are aftermarket NOT OE. Aftermarket wheels generally have different size center caps and there are several different size aftermarket center caps. You will need to measure the diameter of the hole to make sure you get the correct part. Original MB wheels have a curved lip, not the squared off type in the picture.

You cannot change your future without disturbing your present.
It looks a whole lot more like it does today than it did yesterday?

With profuse apologies for the nocturnal flash photography:

Yes, the needed center cap seems to be 3" in diameter, and 1.5" in depth at deepest point.
