Carlsson wheel/tire combo

Hello all,

I was on here a few years ago trying to sell these but forgot my username and password so please forgive my ignorance. I'm trying to sell a set of rims and tires. They came off of my dad's car. These were on his W210 and fit like a charm. He sold that car in 2008 and purchased a new W211 that same year. He planned on running these on it but never got around to it.

They've been sitting in my garage for several years. He passed away unexpectedly last month so they need a new home. Here is the information on them.

18" Carlsson " 1/5" Wheels with Kumho ECSTA ASX tires. Both tire and rims are in excellent condition. Zero curb rashing on rims. Tires have between 50-65% tire tread life left on them (guessing- maybe more?)

1/5 Rim specs: 18" Factory (Carlsson) 10mm spacers on each rim Offset: 40 Carlsson wheel info: 8.50JX18H2ET40 Tire: Kumho Kumho ECSTA ASX Size: 225-40-18 All season - mud/snow

Now these do have the spacers. I remember my dad calling Carlsson's head technical adviser in Germany to make sure there wouldn't be any wear issues and there never were.

Location: San Ramon California.
Roughly a 50 minute drive east from San Francisco and about a 35 minute drive east from Oakland. If you're in Southern California I would consider delivering but we'd need to work something out.

I'm willing to work with anyone that wants these out of state but you'll need to arrange shipping. It should be reasonable as I've done it before. If you've got any questions please email me or give me a call.

I'm looking to get $1200.

- Daniel

My sympathies about your dad. It's never easy losing those who brought us into the world.

I hate to tell you also that the tires are effectively worthless. Passenger car tires don't last forever and past five or six years their safety is suspect; since those were taken off the car before it was sold in '08 they may be eight or ten years old. Here's but one article on the topic: How Old - and Dangerous - Are Your Tires?

You can pull the serial number off them if you like and decode it, check this link:

In summary, you're better off dismounting those tires and discarding them, and then selling the wheels and spacers by themselves. That will also make them easier to ship and as a result you may be able to get a better price via ebay, etc.

Good luck in all of it. I know all-too-well what you're going through.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

Thank you. I could have the tires removed if someones really interested. I'm also open to reasonable offers.
