MERCEDES CHAIN DRIVE GRAND PRIX INKWELL
I would like to sell my 1910 antique inkwell with a sculpture of a chain drive Mercedes Grand Prix car in a race. I believe this is silver over bronze, and it is signed by the artist "W. Frick" and the foundry mark "Kaiser" and the old Germany mark "Alemania" are both stamped on the bottom. I found it in an antique shop in the San Telmo district of Buenos Aires, Argentina several years ago. It is in excellent original condition and is about 15 inches long, about 8.5 inches wide, and weighs about 6.5 pounds. It has two opening compartment; the hood opens for the ink bottle, and the rear spare opens for stamps, etc. I am asking $4,000 plus shipping.
