Wanted: Armrest Glove Box Replacement

Hi Folks:

My center console, armrest, glove box no long works and the padded leather top is no longer is fastened to the box itself. I don't mind not having it work (unless it makes economic sense to repair/replace), but would be content with a way to replace or refasten the padded leather top (armrest pad) to the box.

Thanks for reading and your help.

The MB dealer individual new parts are very expensive to repair what you have. The following post shows where I bought the entire console used and repaired mine for the issues I had. I highly advise this method if you can do it yourself. I found that certain plastic internal parts on my 97 were in pieces (like some describe the rear view mirror mess). Search this site regarding how to take apart ect. As I described in the following post some models are different. It is not that difficult. Use epoxy when you repair and take your time.

The cover and box/compartment cost $1,700 from the dealer (parts only). I would be delighted if I could just figure-out how to secure the cover to the top of the box. I don't know how it came off. The box was sealed (broken), and the cover slid back and forth as it should. Then I noticed it had separated from the box. I will upload pics later. I may have to "rig" something together. Interestingly, there are no signs of any loose screws. Thank you for the replies.
