Even cracked wheels have value... whoever got them for $75 a piece got a STEAL.

They key word in your post is "were". They WERE top-of-the-line when new. Now they're an aging design that's been showing its flaws for years now, and yet people still trip over themselves for these. If you want them for wall decor, fine. Once they're cracked they'll never be "original" again.

There were a lot of things that had "intricate designs" and "limited supplies" and they aren't worth thousands upon thousands of dollars.

But hey, if you like them and buy into the hype, that's great! Some of us just don't see the point.

I have had pretty serious inquiries from people still very interested in the whole set...as is....with or without the rubber.
Shipping is the biggest issue though.

What HYPE?? They are pretty and rare. No one claimed they make your cock bigger or your car faster.

It won't be cheap, but I've safely shipped and received wheels boxed individually through FedEX and UPS.

Factor that into the cost; if these are as desirable as they're made out to be, shipping should be immaterial as it's only a FRACTION of the cost of the wheels themselves

What I'd suggest you do, to get a good idea of what they're going for in their current condition, is search for older for sale threads here or on other boards.

Quick research yielded that set of four with the two cracked wheels, where the two fronts were cracked and offered for $75 each and the rears were uncracked, deep-dish wheels for $800 for the pair.

I thought wheel and penis size is directly correlated. I'm working on increasing the size of some BBS RS I have from 7" to 9.5", and I'm very excited to show off the result when done. My wife doesn't seem to care too much though. She isn't ever very happy whenever she sees my junk, nomatter how big it is. She might get excited about the concept of the ability to make it crack somehow though. I do think she would be excited about the idea of making my junk go faster though.

You haven't been around long enough to see the pissing contest and E-penis comparisons about legit, 100% documented AMG cars with wheels such as these, so I don't expect you to understand that HYPE I speak of.

But you're right, totally worth the money, regardless of condition because of rarity and how they look.

Please choose a definition of "hype" before we continue this inane argument over the subjective appeal and monetary value of a set of wheels neither of us own...

Hype
- Excessive publicity and the ensuing commotion: the hype surrounding the murder trial.
- Exaggerated or extravagant claims made especially in advertising or promotional material.
- An advertising or promotional ploy
- Something deliberately misleading; a deception.

Thanks!

Definition number 3!

You're welcome!

It is totally subjective, and if people want to spend money their money like that, GREAT!

I don't see the HYPE (the constant promotion and advertising that these are THE SHIT!) when they really aren't except to a group of "enthusiasts" such as yourself who live and breathe wheels.
