1986 Mercedes 190e 2.3-16V Cosworth Needs Rescue!

Hey guys, I've been a lurker on here for some time. I haven't been on here for awhile, but I have something special for sale!

I have a very rare 1986 Mercedes 190e 2.3 16V rare Cosworth engined car for sale. I purchased it several years ago to bring back to pristine condition. I got it 90% there, then life got in the way. It has been languishing in the driveway for several years now. The sun has faded the clearcoat on the roof and trunk lid.

Mechanically, this car is sound. The engine was perfect. It just had issues with the suspension and a small exhaust leak coming from a hole in the header. All have been fixed since. It just needs a new catalytic converter to pass smog. I tried to start it with a new battery, but it just turns over without starting. It might need a new fuel pump. I don't hear it priming. I did manage to start it with starting fluid but can't sustain running. In all other attempts in the past, it started right up.

The car is all original. Nothing was removed or added. The self leveling suspension system is still in place. The only thing I changed is the 1986 headlights were replaced with a 1988 newer looking set instead. The body is in great shape, all panels are straight, no missing parts or badges. Only issue is the paint of the roof and trunk lid.

The registration is out for several years. It might cost $800+ to renew (if you're in California) or you can use this for parts. I'd like to sell to an enthusiast willing to rebuild or restore this neglected beauty. I have the pink slip with clear title. 178k original miles. Black leather interior, Getrag transmission. Cosworth 2.3-16V original motor. I'm taking offers. Not in a rush to sell but will sell immediately for the right offer. Cash offers over $3k will take the car home. The car is currently located in Sacramento, CA

You really need to put a price on it reflecting the issues it has vs one with no issues.

Hello, not trying to low ball. But, if you're willing to go down in the price by about 60% PLEASE PM me. I wouldn't mind paying $3,000 if it was running or didn't have $800 in DMV back fee's. As it sits now, it's a none running car (atleast fuel pump (?)) that'll need to be repaired before it can be driven. And it'll need at least another $1,000 to be legally registered in California because catalytic converter, smog, plus registration/taxes. Compared to buying a running car that can be registered in one visit but with known issues mechanically or cosmetically at about $5,000.
