I was looking at the Millenium Rotec for my W126. Here is what they say about the wheel I liked...

The Rotec is manufactured using a highly advanced production technique called rotary forging. The rim of the wheels is forged at high pressure while the wheel is spin at high speed. this alters the molecular structure and enhances the strength of the alloy. The benefit is a much lighter weight than a regular cast wheel. Most importantly, the weight saving is in the outer rim of the wheel which dramatically reduces rotational mass and enhances vehicle performance.

Just because it is made in China doesn't mean it is junk. It's up to the onshore company to insist upon quality and insure QA is done.

There are wheels with TuV approval that are made in China. iPhones are made in China.

China doesn't equal jink. No name company + low prices + China *probably* equals junk.

I think she mis-spoke. It now appears rims alone were under 2k.

All good...
