Zoo,

Both sets found in this thread are sold. I have one of these sets, and it's not for sale, going out for complete disassembly and refurb.

Once I get them back they will go on either my 129 or a late year 126 - SEC I will hopefully find soon.

If your looking for period wheels to fit your 300TE, I may have a set of 17" ET28 Aero I's for sale soon.

SL's & 124's

I shipped him a set and it was delivered yesterday.
I was asking for feedback.

didn't go all they way back to the beginning and look closely

wouldn't have thought you were still using the forum for private sale details

For me, when selling or buying, I move to PM's very quickly and if we are in agreement, the final details always progress to emails. Followup on satisfaction would also fall into the email or PM category, never public, unless it ended up badly with no other recourse. But that's just me..

So your set was on the VW? I think I saw them for sale on a VW forum as well.. looked to be in good shape. I was going to follow up with you had the other set fallen through.. I liked the polished look...

I did not post any details. My set is not listed in this thread. Not sure what set you're talking about.
Just asking for feedback, and feedback should be public.

OK, Details of sale completely private, and we don't even know you are selling anything. But you want the feedback for whatever it was you sold to be public? OK..whatever... kinda backwards I would think.... but as Yamaha used to advertise, "different Strokes for Different Folks"...

So it ends up this thread sold 3 sets of 3 piece OZ's...gotta be a record..

The 3 sets are Post #13 , with the cracked barrels, (the set I bought), post #21 , the hand polished centers set that came off a VW, and your secret set we know nothing about.

I got lucky and found 2 exact replacement barrels in Germany fairly cheap, and the entire set is about to get sent out to be disassembled and re-furb'd to OEM finish. (I inspected them closely before purchase, and the centers are perfect.)

Anyway, hope your buyer is as happy as I am... the price was right...

The only problem I had was getting the tires off, no one would even attempt to do it, afraid of damaging anything. I ended up taking then off myself with power tools...LOL. I used a construction demo saw to remove the bulk of the tires just leaving the beads. Then used a Dremmel to "very carefully" cut the beads without touching the inside of the rims. The entire operation took about 45 minutes, The steel wire strands in the beads are really strong....

Anyway, thanks again, it was fortunate that we could meet on such short notice, and I'm happy with the wheels... Take Care
