FS: 1982 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo - 92k Original Miles
An almost entirely original 1982 turbo sedan w123. The current miles are 92k; I found it at an estate in SD earlier this year and grabbed it somewhat on a whim. I've spent the last few months bringing it back to reliable driving condition and working to convince the Mrs it is what we need; but alas, she wins and it has to move on for a bigger SUV. She also feel in love with her TDI Jetta, which took my economical car stance away.
It is a great runner, with a good deal of the fluids and filters replaced in the last few months. Turbo is solid, shifting is solid, and it drives straight as it should. And the best part: except for the A/C and cruise control, everything on it works. It appears the windshield and driver's window have been replaced, as well as a respray back in the 90's, but everything else appears to be original to the car and works - all windows, sunroof, locks, all lights, all gauges, original Becker radio and antenna, vacuum line, and so on. There is nothing missing either; as I said, all original.
Main points --
OM617 W123 with under 100k (rare and hard to find at a decent price)
All body parts appear to be original and are straight
Paint is sun-faded and cracked, but looks good from 5'
Two smaller spots of rust; one driver's side rear wheel well that looks to be sprayed and stopped since that re-spray, hasn't spread since; and the inside, bottom passenger door
The dash has the common cracks but is covered by a dash cover
Interior is outstanding, without a hole or worn area in any seat. Even the original berber floor mats, with a few worn spots and one with a hole, are intact
All windows and the sunroof work, which was lubed with the correct lube
All lights work as they should with the proper bulbs replaced where replacement was needed
All gauges work as they should, including the odometer and tachometer
Drives straight and smooth
Clear CO title in hand
This was my first w123, though I have wanted one for some time, but knowing what these are going for and the very low miles on this one, I think $6200 is a fair price. I wish my wife enjoyed them as much as I do so I could keep it but it will have to suit a new family. PM with any questions.
