WTB: COUPE - W124 or W140 E320 or S500 / CL500

I've gone through about 16 pages of this section. THat was before I knew what to ask for. Now I know.

Then did a search and came up with little results, hence this post!

Looking for a late model Mercedes coupe. The one I had is with me no more (my avatar pic).

For the E320 the model year would be 94 and up. Not interested in the 300CE.

For the S500 / CL500 looking at all of the model years. I'm not crazy about the rounded headlights of the 2000(?) and up models. Definitely looking for the square-type, older front end.

If you have one-- or know of someone who's got one they'd like to part with just let me know: I'm actively looking with funds in hand. Already test drove a few last week.

Thanks!

russianwol: You're awesome! Thanks! I did see that white one last week, and there was only 1 pic. Looks like they added some more... if only it was a different color...

The second is a V12. I had previously looked up the gas on those and we're in the low teens. Sticking with the V8.

Thank you again! I've been looking in the PA/MD/DC/VA/DE Craigslist, as well as eBay. Saw 1 or 2 in FL. I'm seriously looking. Thank you so much for those links.

No problem. There was a "charcoal" one in Norfolk area a while ago. I'm always browsing my local CL so I'll post anything new that comes up.

Thanks lam6440! I looked that one up RIGHT after you sent it. Called the dealership a couple of times over a half an hour and got no answer. That was strange. Then I did get someone on the phone and they said they were switching to another phone and hung up on me. Then I called and they couldn't figure out who I talked to.... about 3 minutes of hold time and a new gy comes on the phone with a heavy Italian accent. I told them it was a Latino sounding guy... more hold time, then a totally different guy comes on. Just crazy stuff .

They sent me the info on the car, it looks beautiful.

So what else happened yesterday? Almost went to FL to get this car *today*. Did the pricing research, the flight research, got a car inspection person on the phone ready to check it first thing this morning. Then after all that last night called the dealer back and let him know I had someone lined up to inspect the car and I'd be landing around 1pm. Oh boy did it start...

"Don't waste YOUR MONEY!" "DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!" BLah blah blah. It's a long story, but he said I could have a friend look at the car, but not one of the independent car inspection folks. Then I said "Ok, so not an independent car inspection service, what about a mechanic." THen it got even more weird, "no no no," he says "you come and you're gonna love the car. don't WASTE YOUR MONEY on these car checking companies. they have to protect their liability! save the money and that money you can use to fly back if you don't like the car."

O.m.g.

Wasted a bunch of time. Here's the link to the ebay auction. Looks like there is schill bidding going on as well: one of the feedbacks on this guy is about that, and all of the bidders are "private"...

Shame, beautiful looking thing!

I have a 1995 e320 coupe, with a 5 speed manual conversion out of an imported 300e.
The rear glass is cracked, but I have a used one that comes with the sale. Needs paint as there was some rear quarter panel work (minor work).

It is midnight blue with palomino leather.

A great minor project. PM me with email and I can send pics. I am in San Diego, CA
