Hello Benz World Members,
I've got 2 1991 190E's that I'd like to sell. Both have high mileage and both need new head gaskets. One is registered in BC and the other in Alberta.
The BC car has lots of work done to it and is in overall better condition. I bought the AB car to hopefully swap the engine out when I discovered it had the same problem. So... now I have 2 cars with virtually the same problem.
The situation is that the labor/cost to do the head gaskets on these cars is hard to justify. I'm looking for someone who might have experience doing these head gaskets or engine swaps. Considering both cars are in great condition otherwise... it seems such a shame to send them to the wrecker for this reason alone.
I drove the BC car for almost 2 years and I loved it which is why I attempted to fix it. Now I've moved on and I don't have time for this project. An engine swap to something completely different is tempting but again I don't have the time or interest at this point.
I'd like to get $2500 for the BC one and $1500 for the other. I am open to offers and at this point I will happily part them out.
The BC 190E has:
New iginition wires, plugs and distributor cap.
Recently rebuilt transmission,
New serpentine belt,
New rear suspension,
New sway bar bushings,
Aftermarket stereo and new door and rear speakers,
Aftermarket wheels and good rubber,
Second set of new studded winter tires on black steel rims,
Yakima roof rack,
K&N air filter,
Very little rust and body damage.
Regular oil changes and thousands in receipts,
The AB 190E, I don't know much about it other than it has a leaking head gasket as well. The interior is clean and the body is virtually mint.
It needs new tires and the wiring to the drivers side rear window needs to be replaced.
That's it, that's all. I'm hoping to find a sympathetic enthusiast who might want these girls. Few people want Rear Wheel Drive cars here in Alberta.
