Hate to derail pardner, but...
care to elaborate a little on this? Degree of difficulty, qualified individuals or shops, etc.
De chroming wheels is $40 - $50 ea wheel, and necessary to be able to refinish and paint or re chrome for that matter.
Proper re chroming (copper, nickel, chrome) is time consuming and costly. De chroming, fixing curbing & pitting etc, and re chroming would likely be over $300 a wheel if properly done.
As an aside, I had 2 sets of chrome W126 AMG Aero I's 8x17 Et11.
Up close, the chrome on these early AMG wheels has a bit of that warped fun house mirror effect.
Most people don't notice when looking at the wheels from an angle.
Same period Lorinser chrome RS80 or RS90 have better prepared smoother centers.
There must be over 100 forum members who used TruWheel , Mike, in North Hollywood, CA
Fast forward in L.A. used to get much of the business until a member dropped off a set of W126 3 piece AMG OZ wheels shod with new 245 Pirelli Zero's. Apparently they 'lost' the tires and offered $200 bucks to replace all four tires.........
A local member who previously got Euro lights from me is supposed to pick up the wheels next week.
