F/S 1984 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC Euro

Hey All,

It tears me apart to have to say this, but I will have to put up my Euro 1984 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC up for sale. I just picked up another toy, a 2001 Audi B5 S4 and will have no room for this beautiful big body coupe

I originally bought this car from Benzworld's own, Aroundthescenes in March of last year. As he can probably attest, it was in pretty rough shape as I recall, he planned to use as a parts car. Well the young guy I am and trying to have my first crack at working on cars, I snagged this up from him and tried to restore it as best as I could:

Odomoter reads 164,556 but has not worked since I received the car. I believe it wasn't functioning when Kurt/Knut had the car as well. I've put on about a good 3k miles on it

- All new fluids
-New vacuum Lines
-New fuel pump, pump relay, fuel filter
-New tires
-Refinished original bodymatched 199 Blauschwartz AMG sideskirts
-Spark plugs, upgraded sparkplug wires, distributor cap
-All new relays, blinker relay, all new fuses
-Full detail inside and out

Now for what the enthusiasts might not love, the car is completely straight piped with tr-y headers, resonator deletes into dual glasspacks with quad stainless steel tips. I just love the sound of that 5.0 v8 and it definitely turns heads anytime someone hears me, along with the beauty of the car.

- The car does need some interior tlc, as best as I know of the seatbelt motors need to be replaced jam maybe?)
- Both auto seats do move very slowly, sometimes not moving at all
-As you can see in the imgur album, there appears to be delamination occurring on the rear windshield along with a cracked windshield
-Brakes/rotors need to be changed
-Needs a new fuel sending unit - gas tank always reads empty
-The rims are original AMG Pentas, would love to see them refinished
-Interior sunroof area has been stripped, looks like someone planned on upgrading it to a w140 moonroof?
-The OEM Bosch euro headlights were sold before I received the car, so some US Specs are on there right now. Would love to see someone put the euros back on
-Radio doesnt work - looks like aftermarket wiring was in there for at one point in its life, amps and subs were hooked up - aftermarket deck

All that being said, I absolutely love this car and would not be getting rid of it if I had the space for it. I've never received so much attention in a car, or in life in general :P Being a 23 year old, I can only say it's been a hit with the ladies as well!! I would love to see this car go to a fellow Benz/AMG enthusiast and keep its beauty restored.

I've attached an Imgur album with full pics of the car as well as a youtube clip of the exhaust. I plan on shooting another video as the cameraphone did not capture is crisply, I'm hoping my point and shoot will!!

Honestly I'm not naming a price but if I comfortable with the offers I receive in PM, I will definitely be responding to everyone's inquiries. I would like to shoot around the $4-5k mark if possible, shipping at buyers expense. I will not be parting out the car and will fill the trunk and interior with all extra/new parts I have for it including euro clear blinker corners

I don't think so, maybe half that if you're really into amg. Otherwise a parts car.

Because it needs lot$ of repair. Add up the costs of parts and purchase price. Not trying to be a dick, just realistic of what's needed to make a "to me" driver auto. My cars are not perfect but I know how much I've spent on parts for them and still don't have everything working, like the cruise on any of them. All have working radios , windows, speedos, a/c and heat, good interiors, suspensions, etc. and I remember my labor and expense to get them there.

Very cool car. It sounds like you are an honest seller. So you might as well post some pictures of the flaws. It looks like all the pics are designed to make it look good. If you don't show the flaws after mentioning them, people will assume the worst. For example, I'm assuming there's no headliner and the sunroof is all exposed, leaking, etc.

I doubt the pipes are too much of a problem with this car.

And...
What's up with the picture of the dude's butt in the first picture?

^What he said. I could have done without that imagebut guess you gotta target tha female buyers too, right? Comedy. Textbook narcissism, "Vanity, ain't it great!"

In all seriousness, a great looking car. GLWS
