Is that a metal piece between the salon and the trunk? That raises up for the "hood" (Brittish) aka convertible top to then be deployed or folded? Pictures would be appreciated. I have a parts car - 73 450 SL.

If it matters, don't think it will work on a '79. Can't remember when the design changed, but compare at door posts/seatbelt slot (chrome caps) for compatibility...

1982 MY was the change. The folding top case covers are all the same on 107s. Starting in 1982 there is a filler piece added to raise the front under the vinyl upholstery.
