Below is a description of my car, I will link the craigslist page for the pictures. Although I have $3800 listed, I can come down on that price as I am ready to sell this car.
I need to sell my 1990 300 SEL due to a recent purchase of Mercedes SL. I have owned this car for nearly 4 years and have made a lot of upgrades and restoration parts. During the 4 years of ownership: Complete tune-up, plugs, wires and all. New belts, hoses, thermostat, water pump. New radiator, new fans, new resistor, new blower motor, new transmission safety switch, new Cooper touring radials, new rotors in front, pads, new pads on rear. New frontend parts such as bushings, draglink, tie rods, etc. New voltage overload protection relay. Kenwood CD stereo. I had transmission serviced and filter changed about a year ago. This year I have 4 new KYB shocks installed and new center resonator muffler. Car has been upgraded to European bumpers front and rear. Both have been painted the appropriate moonstone gray to match the trim underneath car. European style headlights have been installed as well. Car looks more streamlined and how it was intended to look. Car has about 159,000 miles on it. A/C blows cold. Car runs well and was recently looked over by Mercedes mechanic when new center muffler was put on. Car is black with Gray leather. Now here are the negative things about car. There is some rust on drivers rear quarter that will need to be addressed and a spot on passengers side rear glass. Electric antenna does not work. Car is a little bit cold natured, but runs great after it warms up. A few minor oil leaks as it is not unusual for these inline 6 motors as they get older. The leather seats in the front really need front inserts. Passenger one has tear on bottom. They do not look too bad considering the age of car. Carpet is nice, dash is nice as well as headliner and rest of interior. Overall car is very solid and in good shape for its age. I have spent probably at least what I am asking for the car in upgrades and restoration, so I will lose money. I have put less than 10,000 miles on car since I have owned it. It has been on several long trips with no problems. If I had room for it I would keep it, but I just bought another Mercedes and I need to sell this one or my 1985 Alfa Romeo Spider. I am located in Clute which is 50 miles from Houston. Please put in subject line 300 SEL EURO when inquiring about car, so I will know you are real. By the way, the "D" country sticker is magnetic and can be removed. I might consider partial trades if you have any Mercedes SL parts (107 body style). I can be emailed direct at firstname.lastname@example.org
