1988 Mercedes 560 SEL Parting Out

After buying a 1988 Mercedes 560sel from a family member with the intention of restoring it to its former glory, work, lack of lift and HOA issues force me to part out the car, with the intention of scrapping it on February 3rd.

Since the car has great parts and parts in the middle of restoration, I will describe the vehicle first, then list potential parts and their condition.

About the Car:
1988 Mercedes 560SEL with circa 170k miles on it. Odometer stopped 3 years ago at 105,XXX. Grey Interior with Burl Walnut Trim. Car is currently in primer, so if interested in any body parts, they are 90% ready for paint. Due to my lack of lift, items like the engine and transmission present unique challenges, that if you are serious, I can sell you last, with the car attached.

I live in Irvine California, and will ship upon receipt of funds or can be picked up locally.

1. Interior
a. Dash-Cracked and Useless
b Burl Walnut- Needs to be refurbished ($150 for all pieces including door)
c. Door Cards-Refinished and repainted. All 95% except for cigar burn in driver door panel ($35 each)
d. Heater Controls-Perfect Working Condition ($75)
e. Steering Wheel with airbag (debating if I should ship with airbag) 50% condition ($50
f. Window Switch Boxes with seat controls (95% some scratches) ($25 each)
g. Becker Radio Fully Functional ($100)
h: Speaker grill. Left one has a dent on the bottom ($20 each)
i. Knee bolster: 100% $25
j. Window Regulator with motor (All windows except rear passenger) $75 each
k. Speakers-Functional ($10 each)
l. Center Console-Refinished. 1 inch tear by driver side under arm rest ($25)
m. Seats: All seats have rips and tears, with broken springs: Will need leather recovering ($50 each)
n. Back Bench-3 inch triangle gash ($25)
o. Headrests-Perfect ($10 each)
p. Assorted switches like window, hazard, mirror, etc ($10 each)

Engine Bay
A. Assorted box fuses (the ones next to the fuse panel) PM Offer
B. Fuse Box with all internal fuses ($50)
C. Idle Control Valve ($50)
D. Ignition Control Module ($200)
E. Distributer ($50)
F. Radiator-$100
G. Radiator Fan-($50)
H. Starter -$50
I. Accessory Belts (500 miles on them) $25
J. Spark Plug Wires $50
K. Valve Covers Black ($50 for both)
L. Air Box ($50)
M. Alternator ($75)
N. Other items. Please request and submit offer.

Body Items

No body items have rust. All clean Southern California. Body parts in currently in primer. Paint shop to sand to satisfaction.

1. Grill ($50)
2. Hood ($100)
3. Doors with Windows, no regulators ($100 Each) With plastic bottom
4. Fenders ($100 each) Driver fender has a 1 inch barely noticable 1/4 deep dent.
5. Trunk-You can buy it but previous owner slammed down trunk on irregular object, creating dents going upwards, that have surface rust. Think its impractical to smooth out and fix, but its available.
6: Front Lights (Halogen bulbs and glass in good condition. Fog Light casing heavily pitted, possible holes. $10 each)
7 Tail Lights ($100 for both) Perfect

Any specific items you would like to have, please PM me and I will get back to you.

As I mentioned, my HOA wants the car gone by February 3rd, so whatever doesnt sell will go into the scrap yard. As for engine and transmission, please read:
Engine: Needs Timing Chain work, and burned a quart of oil every estimated 900 miles based on distance and gas receipts (non op odometer). First owner was an elderly lady, then she sold to a couple of kids (where the neglect happened), who then sold it to a family member who took care of it but was in school and with 12 mpg not the most economical. I bought it to restore it and use as a daily driver, but my work commute changed, and bought 4 cylinder instead.

Transmission: No 2-3 flare, extremely small leak somewhere. Car has been sitting, but no drips, but when driving would have to add an 1/8 quart every2000 miles.

Differential with LSD: If someone is interested, I can get the stamp number, but since I can't remove it buyer would get the whole car, or we could arrange the car to be sent to a mechanic if local.

For Differential, Transmission, and Engine Offers, please PM me first.
