Be nice. If you read the posts he actually thanks me for pointing some things out. You offered feedback as well, I might add.

Again, it was not my intent to criticize, but to give an idea of what someone well versed in these cars would probably see as areas of concern and good, for that matter.

I would also add that I believed the best venue for maximizing profit on this car would have been eBay, too. People on eBay are often far less discerning than members of this forum or MB enthusiasts would be.

Glad he was able to sell it and not have to wait for tax time...

Atleast we had something to talk about guys Car left for auction I will let it go for whatever it will sell. With additional 114 Pictures I think Ill make back what I invested atleast. The car will be auctioned off on IAAI auction in Hartford CT. I Left a piece of paper in a window wihich says. "for additional pictures search zibi988 in google" Ill make sure they take a picture of that note. There is one on the auction rusted, doesnt start and its at 1000$ 3 days away from auction, so Im preety confident.

Do you know, that co-part charges the buyer : close to $300 on top of the bid price, (this fee, that fee, ooohh and those fees also...) ??

Do you know that the seller gets charged a seller's fee ?
My guess around $100 and towing charges (for non runners) ??
Mind you , that for that price you get 8 low resolution photos , pretty much zero description AND NO guarantees.

So on a $1000 bid you pay $1300 maybe more PLUS if you're not a dealer or dismantler registered with them, they "make" you find a broker, who does nothing but let you use his license for a fee, generally around $250.
Add that to the bill and tow-out charges and your $1000 purchase gets a $1600 price tag.

WHO in his right mind buys cars from co-part ?

E-bay is made to look like a heaven's gift in comparison....

Going to aucton. Seems that no one wants the car also the blower motor stopped working I have to fix it now, any ideas for wiring diagrams for this thing? Also found out wipers dont work. Ill go checkout the fuses and relays tomorrow. I really dont care about making any money on this car I just want it gone for what I paid for it. I spent 4 days restoring the wood and a day getting the car to drive. I bought it for 3000 and Ill sell it for 3,500. Im feed up. If someone is interested in a headache let me know Ill sell it to you.

Wow, sounds really interesting now.
A headache ?
That's a new sales strategy.

I am just wondering, why anybody would buy a car , not knowing the market, dish out $3000 (for a non-runner, the going price is usually 1500 or less) and ruin it for somebody, who might really be interested in the car, but for a realistic price ?

LoL

If you saw the undercarriage shape with your own eyes and the rest of the body you would know why I dished out 3K without question. I had a 73 280c before that was roted and sold for 5,600$ . It need 3K in floor work alone. This car needs no body work just some details but Im really not interested in this car anymore. I spent a week working on it and if I cant even get money for what I invested than why bother any further? This car would make a perfect w108 250s if restored because the body panels are immaculate and would be all original not like some restorations where half the car was made in china and the floor boards were sent here on a ching chong ship.

Very nice ride man. Too bad it isn't diesel. I'd be back in CT picking up the car and a pizza at Pepe's.
