After much contemplating, I have decided to sell my 2000 SL500 Designo (10/99 build date). I am the second owner of this car, and a close personal friend is the first owner. The Car is in amazing condition, and after almost 14 years, the car has traveled only 25,000 around-town miles of driving. This car has a beautiful slate blue paint job, with the supple black and blue interior and the dark birds eye maple trim.
Other quick info about the car:
1)The car is of a limited production run (I believe out of 230 slate blue designo SLs that year, this is number 23). Also, from doing some quick research, I believe this car to be one of two on the market right now in the United States (the other has more than triple the mileage).
2) The original car cover (in its bag), and the hardtop with the stand and cover is included in the sale.
3) Original books and manuals are still with the car (stating the original dealer as Brandywine Motorcars in West Chester, Pennsylvania [now Mercedes-Benz of West Chester])
4)The car also comes with its original tool set, windscreen, and unused first aid kit.
5)The correct radio code needs to be inputed or the radio needs to be replaced altogether. After the battery died recently, I called MBZ and they gave me an incorrect radio code (so the radio says WAIT). But, the Bose speakers still work perfectly.
6)Thanks to the car's low stature, there is a bit of curb rash on the the fiberglass front bumper (and a couple of the wheels), and one minor scratch on the the hood.
Other than that, the car is in beautiful condition (always garaged and has rarely seen rain) and with all the usual R129 trouble areas under the hood sorted out by EuroMotorcars Devon (at a cost of about $2500) it runs fantastically.
I'm asking $19,250 OBO. For more information, call 484-938-7708 and ask for Tom.
