royal purple oil in 2008 mercedes c300 sport matic

i would like to put rp in my car but i dont want to break my engine i want to no if anyone has done it i know it doesnt have the specs 229.5 grade but ive heard very good things about it and mobile one i dont know about there oil other than its not as good as rp

If you're not sure, ask the folks who make Royal Purple.

But if it doesn't meet Mercedes-Benz Specification 229.5, I wouldn't put it in my car.

Royal Purple offers great products and I use everything they have from motor oil, oil filter, transmission fluid, differential oil, etc but that is all used in my Ford Truck. For synthetic oil for my Benzes I use Amsoil European Formula which meets MB Spec 229.5.

I spent a little time researching this last year. The thing with Manufacturers oil specifications is that they establish them, then charge companies to test their oils and certify them. The fees are not small. So the Royal Purple probably exceeds the spec's but they may not have paid to have that certification. I agree with jaymaynard above, give them a call and talk to them about it.
