I upgraded to a w220 and now need to find a new home for my trusty W124.
I have all records from new, and the car has been well cared for over its lifetime. Sadly, some dame in a SUV was not paying attention and hit the car on the driver side fender last May. I do not have the space to do the repair myself, and my better half wants the car gone, as there are another three benz on the property that are road worthy.
This car is dark blue and has all the Special Edition W124 bells and whistles. Dark blue paint, integrated cell phone, 6 disk CD player, LoJack, leather seats, special wheels. AC need attention, as there is a leak somewhere, and the shop I went to for a repair quote put some scratches in the trunk lid. They should buff out.
1995 W124 E300D with NA OM606 engine and 722.3xx transmission. Newer tires, good flex disks, brake pads, 188k on the clock, recent glow plug renewal and injectors cleaned. Recent oil change, and the transmission fluid and filter were done about 8k miles ago. Pop up sunroof works great, as do all windows, locks and original Becker radio.
The kalifornia window tint failed and was mostly removed from the rear window. You can steam or ammonia swab it to remove the rest. Driver side headlight is intact with a small rock chip. The side marker is not included (dead) I do have a passenger side-marker that goes with the car.
The car does drive, stop and steer. Alignment is off and I think the driver side strut wants to be replaced.
I am open to reasonable offers, though I would like around $2k for the car in present condition. Insurance company had to scour the US to find a comparable car. It took them two months and once they stopped trying to use a 300e as their standard, replacements were in the $8-9k range, since the 95 E300D is such a rare beast.
