Exclamation WANTED: Sets/Pieces/Electronics, etc. for 1983 (1984) 500 SEL

Hello! I'm trying to make my recently acquired Benz just a little bit more pretty and I have a feeling that this is the place to look! Please post pictures or send them to me in a PM

INTERIOR COSMETICS:

Wood grain, the works. Preferably burl walnut, need it to be in near perfect condition or at least where blemishes or cracks are nearly invisible.

Black Key Trim Piece that surrounds the ignition. I need it to be a "functional" piece of plastic too, meaning that I can snap it in and leave it alone.

Shifter knob for Automatic Transmission. Leather or ANY shade of wood grain.

ELECTRONICS:

Becker BE0860 radio with CD player. Would preferably like the WHOLE unit, player and all, to be entirely functional.

Original Mercedes Benz car phone for the 1980s years. I guess some years up will do too. Would prefer unit to be call capable on both ends, sending and receiving. Need mounting place and screws too!

---

According to some documents that came with the car when I bought it, it used to have these optional electronic features but they had ceased working and the previous owner removed them. The radio was exchanged with a new Sony CD player and the car phone was tossed, as was the radio too I believe.

Show me the product and name your price!

Forget about the working car phone. That was an analog unit, and those haven't worked in the US for years.

Have you tried scouring Ebay for some of the items? You may be able to come across something you are looking for. But the search can be pretty long - I've been trying to find plastic seat trims, etc for my project for a while. I have some pieces listed that you may need.

Now looking for sewing lessons

If you want an OE leather shifter Mercedes still sells them and not outrages price. Burl or Zebrano is about $60.00 +S&H from Ecklers.

I have but I haven't turned up anything that I need yet. The car is in mostly pristine condition aside from the parts that I listed above, so I'm not really looking for anything for the seat. Sorry.

Oh, that's a bummer but I'm still not going to forget about it. It WOULD be nice to have a working unit nowadays, but it would half... well... I guess totally now that you tell me that be for looks and nostalgic purposes.

Check with the guys on the w126 forum. I am sure someone has the phone set aside in a box. Some years ago, a member referred to it as the "Scarface Phone"

My w126 is long gone but you can see the phone in this picture. Hope you find one.
