Hi all...the AC is working and the CIS was adjusted to pass smog...runs even better. Am I priced to high? Offers?
I think you're pretty high on price, and here are a few reasons why (in my opinion):
1.) The 2.8 liter six is not an engine that is well liked or known for longevity.
2.) Unknown mileage. If you had anything from the PO that might give an indication of true mileage it would be a big help. Again, these are not diesels and the engines are usually pretty well thrashed by the time you see 200k.
3.) Climate control servo. This is like a giant nuclear warhead sitting under the hood just waiting to blow up. No more OE ones, only aftermarket rebuilds, all very, very pricey and will still fail as the original does/did. No cheating here - when it blows, it goes, leaving you with nothing in the way of climate control.
Things in your favor:
Looks to be a very solid body and paint from the pictures. Interior looks nice as well for the age and vintage. Sounds like you've done a fair amount of work to the car, too.
Taking all of this into consideration, I would think it would be in the $3k range, maybe $2500. 1978/79/80 model year W123 chassis cars are probably the least desirable for some of the reasons above, and this would factor into it. If it was a diesel it would be worth more. The gassers just don't have a big following and usually command less money.
Good luck with the sale. The car does present well, which is definitely a plus for you.
