HEY HONEY, Where's the CAT.... the Bags empty
Seriously after reading everything, I don't see the big deal about the secret price.
I did a quick check over on Auto-Trader, there are 21 97's for sale there that show mileage and price.
Average mileage is 95,000 with a average ASKing price of $11,500
A better comparison is for those with under 50,000 miles - (only 4)
Avg mileage under 50K = 44,400, with a avg asking price of $ $17,900
Highest price low mileage 97 asking price is $19,750 with 37,500 miles
None in the data base are 40th Ann. optioned, so @ $19,900 he's not that far from the similar low mileage comparisons, just at the high end.
It is a very nice looking car, and he's looking to find someone that places an extra value on the 40th Ann. option with low miles.. (probably because he did himself when he bought it)...
97's are thought to be the best of the breed by some, (not all), and this car could be one of the better 97's out there. Is it worth $19.9K to someone, maybe...
I really do like the color combo's of this car, so many black, white, and silvers out there, this one has a color rarely seen and is really sharp... I like it a lot..
He may find that special buyer, but perhaps in other venues..... Star Magazine may be a good choice
Despite the criticisms over the pricing thing, I'd bet many would like to own this car... I would...
Hope this car finds a good home with someone who will preserve it's pristine looking condition
