Post FS: Blizzak Snowtires on Alloys for ML, G. Like new.

We're moving to warmer climes, so selling the ML500's spare winter tires mounted on a nice set of alloys in 5-112mm bolt pattern for the ML and G class. Used very little, Bridgestone Blizzaks 255/65-17 (a smidge taller than the stock ML tires allows the truck to ride a little higher over the slush, gets better mileage, and looks bossier too).

These have about 1K winter miles on them, and look very very good indeed. Blizzaks are usually good for 20K+ winter miles, a solid 5 or 6 seasons provided you don't use them too early/late. Having them pre-mounted on their own alloy rims allowed me to change them myself when I needed them vs when i could get an appointment with the guy who would always over torque them with the impact wrench set to strip-n-destroy, and it easily paid out in a few seasons of avoiding the extra cost to mount/balance twice a year, and my own lost time and productivity.

Can't say enough good things about these tires. Far superior to the Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow alternative that I owned previously on my Range Rover. The benzo's traction control is pretty fabulous in snow/ice, but the fat width of the ML and G SUV tires make them a bit floaty on snow and ice, generally not the best winter drivers, with traction control firing off for no apparent reason all the time, and a loose rear end on moderately icy days. With Blizzaks however, it turns a Montana winter into a cruise in the park even up the STEEPEST SLICKEST ICY driveways and unimproved forest roads covered with 18" of unplowed powder, the traction control light hardly comes on at all and the rear end stays planted in the curves, even on icy roads heading downslope. Almost like a different car. I also recommend the slightly taller size, even on a summer tire, I will go with it on my next set. They roll smoother, noticeably lower rpms and better mileage, no noticeable handling acceleration or braking difference, and the stance looks good sitting ever so slightly taller.

Asking $950 (brand new they go for ~$1400). Just pop out the MB center cap from your summer rim and pop them on these when you switch them.

Thanks and happy motoring!
