FS: 1973 Mercedes 280C Nice Driver Quality Car

Selling my '73 280 Coupe. Car is in Minneapolis (recent transplant from CA), $4800, I'm open to reasonable offers.

It's on eBay too... tons of pics... link to that auction here.

Here is the test to the ad I have on local Craigslist:

Exterior color is 'Light Ivory' interior color is Mahogany. Last year for the small, clean looking bumpers. 2.8 liter SOHC inline six cylinder engine with a single carburetor. Starts every time, runs like a top. Car shows 44,675, I assume that's 144k+.

I bought this car out of Northern California (Monterey) in the Spring of 2012 and had it shipped to Minnesota as my Summer event car (some event photos below).

The car is a veteran on the first annual Walleye 1000 Vintage Rally. It ran flawlessly, over two days between 50 and 70 mph during that really hot, record breaking first weekend in June of 2012, temps were in the high 90s and the car ran perfectly over two days of back roads through rural Wisconsin and Minnesota.

When I got the car I had some upholstery work performed, as well as new subframe bushings. It got a general tune up, filters, oil change, spark plugs, etc. All electric window switches were cleaned and serviced, all four electric windows go up and down smoothly. The car looks great when they are all down as Mercedes coupes don't have B pillars. All work was done at either Lake Country Classics in Minneapolis or at Huber's Imported Car Service in Golden Valley. Four new tires were installed, I haven't put 2000 miles on the car, or those tires since I got it.

The car is dry. The trunk seal was the first thing to be replaced on the car when I got it. Underside of the car is dry and rock solid as are all panels.

Price is $4,800. Reasonable offers considered once you've seen and driven the car, clean and clear title in hand, cash talks.

Maybe you've seen it on eBay recently. The first auction was fairly painful, as the first bidder to hit the reserve retracted his bid. The winning bidder said he found another car. Lots of DB's bidding on cars with no intention of actually buying them.
