FS: 1984 W123 300D Euro 5 speed manual

1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D Euro Spec with 268k miles. I am the second owner and have owned this car for about 4 years and has been used as a weekend car; the car had about 232k miles when I bought it. The first owner was a German lady who imported the car new from Germany to Yorba Linda, CA. This car has been in Southern California all of its life and has blue California plates. This car also has the 5-speed Getrag manual transmission and does not have a sunroof.

VEHICLE TYPE: Car
MODEL NAME: 300 D USA
ENGINE: 617912 10 208097
TRANSMISSION: 717400 00 048370
BODY: 06423
ORDER NUMBER: 0422703775
LIGHTS: HELLA
INTERIOR COLOR: 254
PAINTS: 040
Option Codes
467 - CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM
504 - OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR, RIGHT, ELECTRICALLY ADJUSTABLE
542 - LOCKABLE GLOVE COMPARTMENT
580 - AIR CONDITIONER/TEMPMATIC
592 - HEAT-INSULATING GLASS, ALL-AROUND, HEATED REAR WINDOW PANE (LAMINATED GLASS), BAND FILTER
570 FOLDING ARMREST, FRONT
876 INTERIOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY

Car is in good mechanical condition and has been serviced at B&M Automotive in San Diego, CA for all repairs under my ownership. Additionally, all filters and parts are factory OEM that I have bought either at the dealer or through the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center. Some parts that I have replaced are the water pump, radiator, front crankshaft pulley, mono valve, ignition module, both rear power window regulators, driverís door check strap, a few vacuum lock actuators, a couple HVAC actuators, antenna mast, windshield gasket, and the trunk seal.

The Euro parts that are original to the car are the Euro H4 vacuum adjustable headlamps, switchable parking lights, front and rear Euro bumpers, all console trim in black plastic with German language controls for the HVAC, flush interior locks, and the naturally aspirated OM617 matched with the 5-speed Getrag manual transmission and Euro differential.

Currently on 14Ē Bundts, which are not original to the car. However, I do have the original 14Ē steel wheels (2 are flat) with the original black hubcaps that came with this car; these of course are included. Additionally, I also have the original rear seat as the car was fitted with leather, but there is sun damage to the leather (splits/tears) but the springs seem stiff.

The AC has never worked under my ownership, and I havenít looked into fixing it so I donít know if the compressor works as there is no belt on it. The other issue is a rumbling when the clutch isnít depressed, my mechanic (B&M Automotive) indicated that it is most likely the clutch throwout bearing and that it isnít worth fixing until the clutch needs to be replaced. The last item to note is that I bought the car with a dented front fender and door as the previous owner had rubbed against the garage door opening, I have pictures to illustrate the cosmetic damage prior to the body repairs that I had done. The car is a good driver that I drive on weekends, the car has also performed well on trips to Arizona and Northern California and gets great gas mileage with the additional fifth gear on the highway.

The car isnít a concours winner and has scratches and dings, but is an attractive car with a nice color combo with original paint (minus the fender repair) The only reason I am selling the car is due to an upcoming move and only want to move one car. Asking $5400, car is located in San Diego (Tierrasanta). Also posted on SD craigslist.

Trying to decide what to do with the 911, will either rebuild the engine or drop in a more powerful one (leaning toward a rebuild). Still runs well but has really high mileage and has never been rebuilt.
