Oof, so hard to let someone have the last word...
I do want to continue the discussion but I will not longer address tusabes personally.
I doubt you would take $6500 pending a good PPI, but I'd happily pay that much along with the inspection. By the time I pay for the PPI and ship it here I'll be in it less than $500 below your asking price.
I agree there are some very interesting cultural differences when it comes to negotiating.
I'm engaged to a Vietnamese woman. When an Asian comes on the lot, we call them "Too Highs". Car could be free and they would say "too high." My fiance and her mother are fierce negotiators. They often think I could have gotten better deals on things. We went to a Vietnamese jewelery store when I bought her engagement ring, and I spent 30 minutes negotiating with the store owner before reaching an agreement. I think the fiance was more impressed with that than the ring.
Mexicans are great because they have cash as well, but it seems they want to know the bottom dollar before they even open the door on the car, let alone test drive. I always thought it strange.
Americans are all over the place. Unfortunately alot of them are broke, with distressed credit. Not in a very powerful position to negotiate when I have to pay $400-$600 in bank fees and be financing no more than NADA clean trade in out the door. Often their negotiation tactic when they can pay is I only have x amount to spend. That's probably the line I here the most. Sorry, not my problem.
The rudest customers have always been Americans. Doesn't matter the race, age, or gender.
