The challenging part of chromed 3 piece AMG wheels might lie under the chrome around the lug holes. It is possible there may be cracks in the lug holes that were chromed over and not visible. I admit I am no expert on whether this is possible or not.

Regardless, chrome is a non-starter for most on this Board, so a minimum refinish (taking the wheels apart, removing the chrome, refinishing in Astral Silver (or body color) and re-assembly) will easily cost $600-$800. I have refinished two sets of these wheels that were not chromed to start and the bill was $600 each set. The big cost driver is the amount of labor involved in taking 35 bolts/nuts apart on each wheel using the right 10 point sockets for these fasteners.

A grand for the wheels as is (again assuming zero cracks) is about the right neighborhood. The curbing is minor as is the slight bend of the lip.

If I were you, I would have the wheels refinished myself to new condition with correct Astral Silver paint (or powder coat) and the lips polished to a mirror shine. This way there are guaranteed not to be any cracks. Then you can sell them for $2,000 easy.

"Can of worms" now that I see not only the centers are chromed, but also the lips.

I would suggest just selling them on the car and hopefully getting more than an extra $1000 for the car because of the wheels. It certainly will help the sale of the car in my opinion.
