WTB: 190 EVO

Like the title says...

1) Yes, I know that they can't be imported into the USA.
2) Yes, I know they are somewhat expensive.
and
3) Yes, I know they are quite rare (but I want only 1...).

I DO NOT want a fake, repro, "just-like," or "faster than a" 201.036 car.

I want a real - original - verifiable - genuine EVO I or II.
Have the cash and the time to get on a plane tomorrow for the right car.
Thanks,

Ron

Good luck! There's a rumor of one in the US somewhere in Colorado. Never seen it nor know its status... could be just an "urban legend". I've seen both the Evo I's and II's (not the ones for sale below) in Europe at meets, personally I like the Evo I's better, but for the vulgar factor I'd go for an Evo II.

Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO 1 & II Original ! as Saloon in Naarden

Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II as Saloon in Winnenden

Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO l Orginal + Rostfrei as Saloon in Lahr

They can be imported into the US. Just swap the vin plates on the driver's side A pillar and on the driver's side B pillar with a US-Spec 190e. Probably just easier to glue gun the thing on. It'll save you from getting the car federalized or whatever

Or.... keep it at my wife's house in Poland until it reaches 25 years old.
Seiously, I don't want to mess with the Feds. No car is worth the haasle or expense.

@ Grillz, thanks for the Mobile.de lead. As I recall you're in Poland, at least part time. Wife is from Warszawa. We get there a few times a year, just got back a week or so ago.

Kind Regards,

Ron

Hi Ron, I'm in California but do go to Germany/Poland about twice a year or so.

BTW, what AMGViper is suggesting is not only "illegal" but is the quickest way to ruin an EVO I or II and its value.

Yes, I agree. Value would be next to nothing, so to speak. Might as well get a hopped up 190 here in the States.
My ex is head of the EPA in the Midwest so I have some guidence about importing something but no one will go out on a limb for a car, nor would I ask.

In your opinion..... would you rather have a 201 EVO, 124 E60, or a pre merger DOHC 6.0 126 or 129 or post merger AMG 6.0 129?

We "need" to buy one more car (in addition to a 124.051/52 coupe). We already have a 124.036 with 30K miles and a 124.092 with 500 body mods (fenders, bumpers, etc.), both in 249/275. I just think an EVO would be a nice fit.
Thanks for any help.

Kind Regards,

Ron

They are all nice cars, some more common than others, some more expensive to maintain than others. If it were me, I'd like one of each

I had a car inspected by the Washington State Patrol one time and they also verified the VIN by lifting the mat on the front passenger side and the VIN was stamped or a plate was under that mat as well. Don't know about other MB's. That one was a 96 W210. FYI

1989 560 SEC Supercharged - 317+ rwhp - H&R lowered - OZ Nova's - upgraded brakes - AMG Tri-Y's - Bergwerks FGS - a true Euro Rod

1995 E420
