FS – '87 560 SEC 2 Door Coupe, Strong Motor, Best Offer

$1500 will buy the car. The engine should be worth double that. The car just sold on ebay for $1500 but the high bidder did not pay or contact me. I will cancel the ebay transaction if someone wants to pick up the car from me for $1500 cash. Email me if you want to buy it or inspect it. It is located in Chattanooga TN.

This was my daily car up to just over a year ago when I took a sales job and needed working AC and heat and better fuel economy. This car has a strong motor that has never given me any trouble. It is not up for sale yet locally or online anywhere else yet. I thought I would give you guys a first look at it. These photos are from several years ago. I will take new photos and upload.

I bought the car in 2004 (107,432 miles) and drove it cross country from CA to TN. It had a primer finish so I spent over $4000 for professional paint job. When I bought it I knew it had transmission problems. About 4 years ago, I invested $4,200 into a replacement transmission from the best shop in town. Other replacements include rotors, starter, and power steering pump.

I will write more details about everything that I know is wrong with the car. Although it drives and the engine runs great even though it has old gas in it, there are a lot of problems with the car that prevent me, a non-mechanic, from restoring it myself.

The AC doesn't work. It worked a couple of years ago. The heat doesn't work. I used the electric seats plus a small plug in heater. There are a few issues with the electrical. I had to hard wire the head lights with a toggle switch.

The sunroof stopped working. It got locked into open partial open position and I used clear packing tape to cover it up until I finally got it to close. It has left tape residue that I have not been able to remove.

A vandal slammed a shopping cart into the passenger side door. A storm caused some small dents and scrapes into the body. The paint is also chipped in an area on the roof on the passenger side.

There is an alignment problem or something wrong with the front driver's side that causes the tire to wear out fast and slightly wobble. It usually happens between 35-50 mph. The brakes squeal most of the time. I spent nearly $1000 to have the brake system redone including new rotors.

A tire store, Firestone, broke one of my wheels. They got a replacement off ebay that doesn't fit. They would not correct the problem. I would recommend 4 new wheels.

The interior needs work. The trunk leaks and needs a new gasket. The engine leaks some oil but runs great. Power steering fluid leaks but works great. The stereo has been upgraded and inludes MP3 CD, trunk amp, and new speakers.

Although I bought the car in 2004, I never was able to register it because it didn't pass emissions. I drove the car anyway. I have the original title from the previous owner along with bill of sale on CA Vehicle Transfer and Reassignment Form, and Affidavit of Non-Dealer Transfers of Motor Vehicles and Boats (TN Form). If this car is purchased for its parts, then it will save me time and money from trying to get it registered and titled in TN.
