Yeah, I finally figured out what to do, but in the meantime, the car has been sold (for the asking price, I'm pleased to say). Thanks for the advice.

sold?

Yeah, the car was sold. Uh,huh. For the second time in a week, a guy comes to see/drive the car, is absolutely wowed by it and can't wait for tomorrow to buy it. Then he, exactly like the first guy, talks to his wife that night, and voila, I never heard from either of them again.
To top it off, the second guy was a big-bodied, loud-talking former marine (no offense, marines). Do you guys have this kind of experience when trying to sell MBs?
I think from now on, I'll require wives to accompany their husbands to see the car and require a deposit if they "want to buy it." I'm tired of this baloney; my time is worth more than this.

That is car sales! But particularly selling a car at that price point.

Good luck, it is a unique car and the right buyer will come along. I would like to buy it for my son who is about to turn 16, but I require airbags!

Bev, I would put the original pictures back up. You might find someone later down the road, or someone may find this post, that will pay your asking price knowing about the that particular model and series. I would if it was a W123, but those are the series that appeal to me. You'll find a buyer, just hold out.

SPVFD 47: thanks for the encouragement; I know the car wil sell eventually, but this is probably a poor time for trying. I think I'll wait until after the New Year and start over. The car is really in rare condition, so I'll hang on until someone wants it. My position is that I would like to sell the car, but I don't NEED to. We shall see.

I would just keep it listed on here for a bit. If someone is looking for one for sale on here, they'll find it. If you were closer to NJ I would be interested. I would love to add another diesel to my fleet but I usually buy cars that need a little TLC for less money and use them to keep my busy.
