I think that you will deal with these same type of inquiries when you try to sell it.

If the records and service history do prove that it is what you think it is, you will have a much easier time selling. I would advise getting the records photographed and documented so that you can put a potential buyers mind at ease.

Looks like a beautiful car, but the value lies in the records.

And no, its not worth $10K. Probably not $7K either...
If you want to sell it for that high of a price, you will need to go through the records and list what year and mileage at which important repairs were made.

Hope this helps.

I owned a 73 280 for a number of years and have to agree with those who doubt the 26,000. I have to say it is much more common on low mileage, older Mercedes to see an average of 4,000 to 6,000 miles yearly when it is a 2nd car. Ours had 122,000 when sold in 1995. The paint was in better condition & also the blue leather & interior in general looked better than this example. Mine had the older style white steering wheel which still looked new. By then, the twin cam 6 had required a valve job and the 4 barrel carb had been rebuilt several times. Don

Gorgeous piece of history but sorry for this.... But I don't think that is the right miles. First of all, the driver door is different color than the rest of the body ( irrelevant to the topic but just saying) and second of all, look at the odometer. You see how the numbers are not aligned properly? Good indication that it was rolled over but hey, if you got papers to prove it, then document them or something. Also, the wood grain on the dash is cracked up. I understand its nearly 40 years old but if it were really taken care of and barely driven then this car should be museum quality. Good luck
