A car dealership will definitely not give you $6,000. Sadly, nowadays only a true enthusiast who understands the historical significance of the C36 would pony up the cash for it.
Have you done the head gasket yet, or were you lucky enough to not have the dreaded C36 headgasket problem? If you haven't, you should probably knock $1,500 off the price so the new owner can do it and keep it forever.
Best of luck with your sale, your C36 is in pristine condition and very beautiful. I've never seen one where the interior is almost perfect like yours. I'm going to school in North Carolina in January and I wish i had the cash to buy your car, I'd buy it in an instant.
There was a pristine C36 with about 124,000 miles in New York with a brand new headgasket job that sold for about $7,000 a few months back on Ebay, it was there for almost a year.
There's a C36 in Virginia with only 88,000 miles being sold for $8,000 on autotrader.com. It's been there for months on end as well.
Don't give it away to the dealer if you can't sell it quickly, you have a piece of history right there and ought to hold on to it for an enthusiast who will take care of it.
