FS: 1979 300SD Turbo Diesel $900.00

I have a light blue 1979 300SD up for sale. The car is in need of more work/repairs than I am willing to give it though it does run and drive ok. The steering gear box is worn and there's plenty of slack in the wheel though the car tracks straight down the road. The brakes are good and so are the tires. There are a few minor rust spots but no rot in the body at all. The interior is not to bad for a car this old but there are electricals that need attention such as the window regulators and sun roof, it works but it needs help closing. There are a bunch of issues that are minor but it would make a good temporary daily driver as is. No A/C and the heat works good. The engine fires right up and the trans shifts good but it could use some adjustments. It was side swiped on the rear driver side and I have replaced the bumper trim. I also replaced the front bumper trim and I installed a good working set of factory fog lamps from another SD. The odometer stopped at 277K and I do not know the true mileage. The engine does not smoke and sounds great.

I am located in Estill Springs Tennessee, I would trust the car to be driven just about anywhere as is but again the steering wheel has a lot of slack/play and will need another gear box soon.

It has a new battery and fresh oil change.

I would probably consider this one to be more of a parts car than a fixer upper simply because it needs so much work done to it. I have a W126 project so this one needs to go.

$900.00 OBO drives it home.
