CHROME OR POLISHED?

answer is i had both, but i just sold the SILVER AND POLISHED SET AND NOW I HAVE A CHROMED SET LEFT WITH 2 rear tires 275 40 zr17 rear tires and the tires upfront i had dismounted.... both sets are crack free and have minor rash that could easily be sanded if you or the new buyer is extremely ANAL... Most potential buyers seem to be.. also i have 3 sets of centercaps i have the old chrome blue amg original caps and also the chrome and silver centercaps as well... pics attached again... i have just the chrome set left.... and they are by far the rarest and most expensive... i just sold the polished and painted set in rough condition for 2k...

Extent of chrome

Are the Lips And the centers Chromed, or just the centers?

The pictures "appear" that the entire wheels are chromed, but it's hard to really tell.

Thanks..

SL's & 124's

Can the chrome plating be stripped off and have the wheels painted instead?

YEA IT COULD BE BEAD BLASTED BUT THATS FOOLISH THESE CHROMES ARE WORTH WAY MORE AND LOOK ALOT BETTER THAN PAINTED AND POLISHED SETS TRUST ME IVE HAD BOTH SEE PICS I LISTED REGARGDING IT BUT TO EACH HISM OWN.. IF THATS YOUR INTENT I WILL NOT DROP PRICE TO PAY FOR YOU TO RUIN THE WHEELS.. NO OFFENSE THESE MAY NOT BE THE RIMS FOR YOU.. CONSIDERING HOW CLASSY THEY LOOK AND THE RARITY I MAY SUGGEST LOOING FOR THE BASIC ONES NOT THE HIGH DOLLAR ONES OR POSSIBLY REPLICAS... THX

Chrome is not my style. I can appreciate them for what they're worth as is, but I'll buy another set elsewhere. Thanks for your time.

Chromed aluminium is just a recipe for disaster. Gotta love the reaction between dissimilar metals. Historically if I remember correctly it was Americans that wanted chrome wheels and wheels that came over from Europe were chromed in America. As for beed blasting... NO - chemically stripped would be the way to go IF you can find someone who can afford all the environmental fees involved with possessing the stuff(I had a set of 930 wheels stripped years ago... what a pain) Good looking wheels by the way.

Were they taken apart before being chromed? Were the faces, outer lips, and bolts all chromed seperately, then put back together? This set of wheels would be worth far more without the chrome, but if it can be fixed, they may still be worth something.
