I am from Appleton, WI. I have a 1991 350SD in which I am converting over to run a 300 om603 motor in it. Many brand new parts available including: Crankshaft, Timing Chain Tensioner, fuel injectors, belt tensioner, belt spring, motor mounts. All other engine parts available but not new.
So heres the story. I was on a road trip on the highway when my crankshaft keyway snapped. I had the car towed 100 miles back to my house where i could work on it. I pulled the engine and pulled the crank. I had a used crankshaft from another 350 polished, cleaned and inspected by a crankshaft specialist with 40 years experience. When the motor was reassembled, it was blowing black smoke. i re-evaluated the timing of injection pump and re assembled. Same thing. So I then had the car towed 30 miles to a diesel mechanic in Green Bay. They proceeded to replace all the fuel injectors, advising me that one was leaking and they all were old so I should replace them all, fishy I know now. Upon inspection that mechanic found some anti-freeze in the combustion chamber on top of the #4 piston. So bad head gasket possibly a cracked head. I will have the head x-rayed for damage to see if it is salvageable considering a replacement is $2300.00. please contact me via email for parts.
