Thanks Fonzi. I wanted to avoid putting spacers...I guess ideal for 560sl front are Lorinser 8x16 ET 22 in order to clear the calipers? Also I like more the look of 9x16 but it is impossible to find Lorinsers rear 9x16 and front 8x16 ET 22 for sale.
I have one 8x16 et22 in my garage.
There's really no reason to be afraid of using spacers if they are used correctly. Hubcentric spacers that fit I to the back of the wheel like a glove essentially become part of the wheel. There is risk or potential hassle when you remove a wheel because you need to make sure you know what you are doing with the spacer, but otherwise, there's not too much to it. Yes, longer lug bolts will have a longer length that could fail, but that's a pretty rare occurrence to worry about.
You can wait forever to find the 8x16 et22.
There is a forum member that I believe has a set of:
- two 8x16 et35 w 20mm spacers and lug bolts
- two 9x16 et10 with lug bolts
Freshly refinished, and tires mounted only once. If you don't want to spend all your time searching for the holy grail of wheels, which often need more time and money to finish, you can just pay the man with the stuff. He is in Chicago (last I checked).
