FS: 2011-2012 Original MB G 500/550 Springs (F/R)

FS: 2011-2012 Original MB G 500/550 Springs (F/R)

I'm selling a set of front and rear springs purchased from FourbyFour club. I installed them on my 2003 G55 along with a set bilstein medium duty shocks to improve the teeth shattering ride of the original suspension. The springs raised the car too much for my taste so I re-installed the original springs. The difference in ride that the shocks made was perfect for my taste so now I'm selling the G500/550 springs which got a total of about 25miles on them.

They will fit on any G-Class W463 from 2002-2012. I'm not sure about the earlier 463's since I'm not sure if there were any changes to the suspension components before 2002.

I'm asking for $900 shipped via ground anywhere in the continental US, OBO for the set of four springs; 2 front and 2 rear. I will accept Paypal payment.

Please PM me or email me at jmlag@yahoo.com if interested. I will also post some pictures of the springs to follow

Thank you.

What Bilstein shocks did you end up going with? And was the ride difference noticeable?
I have the same year G500 and am looking to get a smoother ride as well.
Thanks.

I used Bilstein medium duty shocks spec'd for 2012 G550s and it made a night and day difference in the ride quality. I'm not sure how big the difference in ride quality between the 2002 G500 and the 2012 G500/550 but I was pleasantly surprised at how huge the difference was between the 2003 G55 shocks and the 2012 Bilsteins I installed. Wow. Then I installed 2012 G550 springs (3 yellow/orange stripes) and it made an even bigger difference in ride quality and rough road compliance. It raised the truck almost 2 inches from original G55 height which was a little too high for my taste and purposes, so I reinstalled the original G55 springs and retained the Bilstein medium duty shocks I got from Vlad at 4x4club.com.

Are your springs still for sale? Also, why did you go with the medium duty over heavy duty shocks?

Hi.

The rear Springs were sold a few months ago.

I still have the front springs if you're interested.

The medium duty shocks were recommended by Vlad from 4x4club. I am guessing the damping and rebound are more forgiving than the heavy duties.

One thing is for sure, my 2003 (with stock 2003 G55 springs and medium duty Bilstein shocks) now rides better than my brother's 2009 G55.
