The car was sold to another interested party about an hour after this person passed on it. It's very hard to manage someones expectations when they are unrealistic. It was a nice car for being 20 years old but was still a 20 year old car.
The man who posted called me drunk numerous times in the evenings asking the same questions over and over. (I don't deal with alcoholics). Sorry if I got tired of answering the same thing 20 times. Like I mentioned, buy a new Mercedes diesel, you wont be sorry.
Lol, drunk, hardly young man. I'm really not much of a drinker Jeremy, ask anyone who knows me, instead of attempting to impugn my character. I did call you a few times at night, and yes two of those calls were from restaurants. You were simply difficult to reach during the day. I tried to be pleasant but you certainly did not make it easy on me. Your attitude was always rather defensive, I should have known better but I wanted to think the best. I do believe honesty is a better policy. You avoided disclosing obvious problems with the car by deferring to the indy that had done your refurbishment on the vehicle. I spoke with him at some length but he informed he didn't check the car over thoroughly. He also said at that time it was the first time he had ever seen you, rather than being a regular customer as you implied. He was vague when I asked specific questions about the car, saying he couldn't remember or that he didn't check that. When I then asked you about those items several times you became defensive and irritated. Yes, I should have known better by your attitude, so I accept my ignorance in trusting you.
You were even difficult when I made the simple request for additional pictures, more than the 4 low res original photos posted on this site, acting as if I was putting you out by the request. The condition/problems I found during inspection were basic, excluding the soapy water pre-chamber leak test which you also refused to do for me.
Your ad stated the car needed nothing, inspection did not confirm your statements. Your hubris showed a lack of consideration for the buyer. I made the effort of flying out to your location but I was not going to pay your asking price once I inspected the car. That was my prerogative. Am I picky? Yes, but you should have been more forthcoming. Would I recommend buying a car from you now? No... and If you actually sold the car an hour after I was there, good for you. That was certainly good timing. I was shown the car by your brother and had to speak with you over the phone when you were available at work. Perhaps you even got off work early and could actually speak to the buyer face-to-face. lol
