did you also do research into the cost of a restoration? I think you'll find that after acquisition costs & restoration costs, most cars of this caliber are worth less than what is put into them...

6500 built does not make the car rare or worth any more. If it were 1 of 100 or less, maybe then.

BTW, as you are the seller, what is the price? I am a buyer at the proper price, but it is not my place to start negotiations...

Set a price buddy. There are a lot of people who might like to own this car. I'm one of them. But you have to start the discussion, we're not going to do it for you. That's how this works.

Dingo, sorry man, I dont know all that much about this stuff. I guess my assumption was flawed. I'm going to send you a message regarding some offers Ive gotten and we can determine whether or not youre a buyer at the right price. And yes, I actually spoke to a guy who owns a large vintage/classic restoration company and he explained to me how much they put into it. This car is very special to a lot of people. (Im realizing.)

Gottfried, I've looked at some of your work and it's incredible. I can certainly see putting 100k into one of these. I saw one on your sight selling for 280k Euro. I guess putting 100 into the restoration combined with buying the car would still be extremely profitable and/or rewarding. I've seen the same model in poorer condition sell for over $20k(sometimes even 30) in almost every case. I cant afford to be a pig or to hold out for the right buyer so im not expecting an absurd amount. I know my situation will make me concede some, but I'm not going to give it away.

Thanks everyone for your interest.

an F40 LM is rare, this is just a slightly less mass produced MB. Great cars. I've got one. Fun to drive. Spins in first and second even at altitude.

Got one too. Love it. Only complaint is the cost of everything. Not a cheap car to run, but it oozes character.

This car is on the Dallas Craigslist and says the car is in Dallas. Where is it? San Antonio or Dallas?

6.3's are not all that rare. I know of a PERFECT 6.3 for sale. I would buy that in a second, sight unseen, I know the way the owner maintained it.
