If you have trouble with posting pictures, you can send them to me and I will post. Probably all you need to do is scroll down in the post window to the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS portion and do it from there.
Couple things to consider -- how may R107 cars have you looked at? There are a LOT for sale and they are typically very inexpensive. I've seen very nice cars sell for $5000. If someone is trying to sell you a $20,000 SL, do more shopping. Also, get some idea of what you are getting into as far as an AC repair is concerned. On an easier-to-work-on Mercedes (such as my 85 300TD with LOTS of room under the hood) changing the compressor and a couple hoses was $1000ish. On a 107 I can imagine it being WAY more labor intensive. Also the controls in the dash for the AC might be some strange type that I know nothing about but that people don't like. The point being to ask people who know 107 cars if the broken AC is a $1000 problem or a $5000 problem.
Good luck with whatever happens!
