1984 300D w123D *VERY RARE 5-speed manual *

For sale is an '84 Mercedes 300D. This vehicle was shipped to the US from Germany in February, 1984. It is the non-turbo 3.0 liter 5 cylinder diesel motor with the EXTREMELY RARE 5 speed manual transmission. Very few examples with this transmission exist in North America. The car also has the European bumpers. Both are intact, save for a few small dings in the front on the left side (hardly noticeable except up close). The car is mechanically VERY fit. The engine runs extremely well and has been well maintained. There are 326,000 kilometers (approx. 202,000 miles). Still going strong.

Now granted, given the car's age --there are some signs of aging paint on parts of the car. It isn't faded much, but there are swirl marks on parts of the hood. This is a car that with a wash and wax will be shining at night. The body is in good shape and the rust is minimal (small trace of rust on the front lower fender - also not ''out there'' - you notice it when you look closer). The car's oil and filters have been regularly changed, it also has a new clutch (replaced almost exactly a year ago). I even put a new Bosch alternator which produces more power output (150 amp, versus the standard 55 amp).

The car has a lot of sentimental value. What you are paying for is a car that has been taken care of, is rare, and that can make a great antique project car (for daily use).

Asking price - $4,800 OBO

If interested, please e-mail for more pictures and further inquiries.
