Thumbs up F/S 72 450 SL $5000.00 OBO

I'm selling this for a friend. Its a 72 450 SL which is modified to take a chevy big block. (not with car) Has the motor mounts already welded in, custom stainless steel headers installed in car, u just need to weld in the firewall, which is included. has new brakes, caliphers, and rotors all around and has everything to put car interior back together all wraped up sitting inside his shop. It also have all new suspension. Has factory hard top and soft top. has some rust but nothing major. It has small bumpers.

I will have pictures when he moves it this weekend and uncovers it. It was brought over from Europe by military man was sold to a guy that got it impounded for drugs, and he bought it from impound, so it has no title. $5000.00 OBO.

Even if completed it is worthless. It is a parts car.
BTW, All 1972 107 chassis were 350SL. 3.5 or 4.5 engines.

impounded for drugs, and he bought it from impound, so it has no title. $5000.00 OBO.
New calipers and rotors have value, particularly if they are not yet installed
Factory hard top is worth about $200, mostly for the chrome nuts that the wrench fits into to unlatch the top. The top handles are worth something.

The soft top if in very good condition is worth something.

The small bumpers if in very good condition are probably worth a grand.

The grill if in good condition with the solid metal star (instead of later plastic) is probably worth $500

I think you are looking at a $200 parts car.
By the way, at least in California when you buy a car from impound you get lien sale papers and you take those to DMV and register the car and get a title. That can cost a fair amount depending on whether or not back fees are owed to DMV. If it is going to be parted out, don't bother.

When I saw the thread title, I was actually interested...

Each sentence of the first post I read, the value dropped a grand at a time. This is, at best, a 500 dollar parts car. And that's if you live in town, and already own a trailer and have storage space to part it out in. Truly sad what was done to this R107.

1990 560 SEL (Hans) & 1990 560 SEC (Hugo), both built in 08/89 in 702 over 265. (My Fraternal Twins)
1987 560 SEC AMG in 122 Pearl Grey Metallic.
1994 S420 (Gunter), in 199 Blauschwartz; (Traded in on W220).
2001 S600L (Hannah), in 753 Tectite Gray Metallic; (Gone in 08/12).
1979 300 CD in robins egg blue; (Gone in 11/12).

the guy does not care, he's lost interest in the project and just wants it gone, check that first 1000.00 takes it. it has custom made stainless steel headers for a chevy big block already installed. and the mounts, would be a interesting race car.

Yes. Pics would help.

I'm not too far from Philly, and could be interested in some bits, not the whole car though... at least I don't think so.
